What actually changes the price of a website in India
Quotes for the same website in India range from ₹5,000 to ₹5,00,000, which tells a buyer nothing. Four things move the real number, and everything else is noise.
- How many pages, and how different they are. Ten pages that share one layout cost far less than five pages that each need their own design. Our tiers include 7 and 15 pages; beyond that it is ₹1,999 a page.
- Whether money changes hands on the site. A brochure site takes an enquiry. A store takes a payment, which brings a gateway, GST invoices, shipping, returns and abandoned-cart recovery. That is the jump from ₹24,999 to ₹99,999.
- Custom logic. Bookings, dashboards, logins, portals and anything multi-tenant is software, not a website, and is scoped after a paid discovery sprint.
- Who writes the content. If you supply text and photos the build is faster. If we write and source them, that is real work and it is priced in the tiers above, not added later as a surprise.
The costs most quotes leave out
Ask any vendor about these five before you compare prices, because they decide what you actually pay in year one and year two.
- Domain and hosting — roughly ₹1,000 and ₹3,000–₹12,000 a year. Both should be registered in your name, not the agency’s.
- Payment gateway charges — about 2% plus GST on every transaction, forever. See our payment gateway comparison for India.

- Content refresh — a site nobody updates stops ranking within a year.
- SEO — building the site is not marketing it. A site with no traffic plan is a brochure with a URL.
Reading two quotes side by side
When one quote is ₹12,000 and another is ₹50,000, compare these instead of the totals: how many pages, custom design or a bought template, who owns the hosting login, what happens after launch, whether there is a GST invoice, and whether they will show you live URLs of past work rather than screenshots.
