Grocery, Kirana & Organic Store Website Design

A grocery website that takes the monthly ration list, runs milk and vegetable subscriptions and drops orders into WhatsApp. Business Website at ₹24,999 plus GST, live in 7–10 working days, built mobile-first for customers ordering while standing in the kitchen.

Grocery Store Website Design

Groceries are bought fifty times a year by the same household, which makes this a repeat-order business first and a discovery business a distant second. The trouble is that the repeat order has quietly moved into an app. A shop that once took forty orders a day on a phone number now takes twenty, and the missing twenty went to a dark store three kilometres away that nobody in the family has ever visited.

We build the parts a kirana or organic store actually runs on: a catalogue priced by weight, a saved ration list, milk and vegetable subscriptions, delivery slots by locality, and ordering that still begins on WhatsApp because that is where your customers already send their list. Three live demos sit below on this page — MITTI for an organic store with subscriptions, PULP for a cold-pressed juicery and PEKOE for single-estate tea — and all three open on a phone, so you can test the flow before spending anything.

Why the monthly ration list is worth more than a ten-minute promise

Groceries are the one category where the customer’s list barely changes. The same atta, the same brand of tea, two litres of milk, week after week. Quick commerce did not win that list by being cheaper; it won by removing a step. A neighbourhood shop cannot win it back on delivery speed, and should stop trying. It wins by remembering the list.

Search splits into two halves here and only one half is worth money. Head terms such as “buy groceries online” belong to Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, BigBasket and JioMart, and they will keep them for years. What is genuinely winnable is the long tail and the map pack: “A2 desi cow ghee home delivery”, “Jaivik Bharat certified millet”, “cold pressed groundnut oil 5 litre”, “monthly ration kit”, and every search that already carries your shop name. Our SEO work for grocery clients stays local and product-level for exactly this reason.

The sites already running in this trade fail in the same four ways. Three thousand SKUs are uploaded once and never repriced, so the page quotes tur dal at last year’s rate and the first order arrives with an argument. Everything is sold in fixed one-kilo packs when half a real order is 250g of jeera and 100g of kesar. Delivery area, minimum order value and the cut-off time for tomorrow’s slot are missing, so a customer builds a basket and finds out at checkout that you do not come to their lane. And the FSSAI licence number is nowhere on the page, while the organic certificate sits inside a blurry photograph.

Selling 250 grams: the catalogue, the slots and the subscription

Most of the work sits behind the catalogue rather than in it. A grocery build is really an inventory, pricing and delivery-rules problem wearing a website.

  • Weight and price variants — 250g, 500g, 1kg and 5kg on one item, each with its own price and stock, loose grain kept apart from packed brands.
  • Saved monthly ration list — last month’s order returns as a reorder list, quantities edited in place, the whole basket added in one tap.
  • Milk, bread, curd and vegetable subscriptions — a delivery calendar with pause, skip, holiday hold and a balance the customer can check herself.
  • WhatsApp order-list intake — a typed or voice list lands in a shared inbox and your staff send back a priced total. Kirana already works this way.
  • Delivery slots and minimum order by locality — pincode or society mapped to a slot, a minimum basket and a delivery charge, all shown before the cart.
  • UPI, Razorpay or PhonePe and cash on delivery — with a COD ceiling and an optional prepaid discount.
  • Certification and licence block — FSSAI licence number in the footer, India Organic and Jaivik Bharat marks with certificate numbers, lab reports as readable pages.
  • Farm sourcing pages — the village behind the ghee, the mill behind the atta, the harvest month of the rice. This is what defends an organic price.
  • Festival hamper pre-orders — box contents, a cut-off date, a corporate quantity field, and a Diwali or Rakhi banner that switches itself off.
  • Society and bulk order form — flat count, GST number and delivery day, producing a quote you approve rather than an ordinary cart.
  • Out-of-stock switch — one toggle marks an item unavailable today; low stock shows a maximum quantity instead of accepting an order you cannot pack.
  • Order updates on WhatsApp — confirmed, packed and out for delivery, plus abandoned-basket recovery through ZupiChat, our own WhatsApp CRM.

The demos on this page were built around these flows: MITTI for an organic store with subscriptions, PULP for a juicery taking repeat orders, PEKOE for single-estate tea sold direct. Open one on your phone and put an item in the basket.

Who changes the price of tur dal on a Tuesday

Every grocery site dies at the same point: the week nobody updates it. Dal moves, oil moves, onion moves twice. We hand over a price-and-stock screen built for a phone, so one person can sit for fifteen minutes on a Tuesday and correct the thirty fast-moving lines. If nobody in the shop will do that, say so before the build. A seven-page site at ₹24,999 with delivery rules and a WhatsApp order button beats a store that quotes a wrong price to every visitor.

The second honest limit is traffic. For the first six months this website will not bring strangers. It converts the households you already serve: the delivery register, the society groups, the slip in the bag. Put the link in your bill message and your Google Business Profile, and measure repeat orders rather than visitors.

Delivery deserves the same honesty. Perishables travel only as far as your own rider goes, so milk, curd, greens and paneer stay inside your slot map. Dry goods — tea, ghee, spices, millets — ship anywhere through Shiprocket or Delhivery, so we split the catalogue and a customer in another state never sees the milk. A counter-sales shop with no delivery at all should read our note on small business websites and spend less.

Frequently asked questions

The Business Website is ₹24,999 for up to seven pages with WhatsApp ordering, contact forms and on-page SEO basics, delivered in 7–10 working days. A real cart with up to 100 products, Razorpay or PhonePe, UPI, GST invoices and abandoned-cart recovery is the E-commerce Store at ₹99,999. The subscription and delivery-slot module is ₹9,999. All prices exclude 18% GST, half at the start and half at launch.
Yes. Our office is in Pune and roughly 60% of clients are outside it. Delivery is remote and organised: a WhatsApp group for daily updates, Google Meet for reviews, a shared checklist for product photos and price lists, and a 40-point check before launch. Domain, hosting, admin logins and analytics are created in your name, so the shop owns everything.
Your FSSAI licence number belongs on the site, and we put it in the footer and on the contact page. For organic claims we show the certificate itself — India Organic, Jaivik Bharat or your certifying body — with its number and validity, plus lab reports where you have them. We will not write an organic or chemical-free claim that you cannot back with a document.
Not on ten-minute delivery, and not on head-term rankings — that fight is lost before it starts. A shop wins on a curated catalogue instead of forty brands of the same dal, on subscriptions for milk and vegetables, on a saved ration list, and on keeping the commission that an aggregator takes out of every order.
The customer picks items, days and a slot, and the site keeps a calendar with pause, skip and holiday hold. Your staff open one picking list each morning, grouped by lane. We normally settle with a prepaid wallet topped up on UPI or a monthly bill sent on WhatsApp, which is simpler to run than a recurring mandate and easier for customers to trust.
Both, kept as two zones. Milk, curd, greens and other perishables stay inside your rider’s area with slots and a minimum basket. Dry goods such as tea, ghee, spices and millets ship nationally through Shiprocket or Delhivery with GST invoices, included in the ₹99,999 E-commerce Store. A pincode check decides which catalogue a visitor sees.
