Website design for photographers and studios
Portfolio sites that load in under two seconds on 4G, with category galleries, package tables, date-availability enquiries into WhatsApp and password-protected client galleries. From ₹24,999, live in 7–10 working days, built for your busiest season.
A photographer’s website carries the heaviest files on the Indian web and is judged in about four seconds. A couple shortlists three studios from reels and referrals, then opens each site on a mid-range phone to check the date, the package and whether the album is included. If the gallery stutters or the pricing page says “contact us”, the shortlist quietly becomes two.
We build around two things: the image pipeline and the enquiry. Every frame is converted to WebP or AVIF at three sizes and loaded only when it scrolls into view, so a four-hundred-photograph wedding set never ships in one go. The enquiry asks for the event date before anything else, because that is the one answer a couple cannot get from your Instagram grid. The three demos below — Lumina Studios, Northlight Pictures and Gallerie Onde — are live; open them on your phone.
Instagram brings the enquiry, the website decides the booking
Almost nobody books a photographer by typing “wedding photographer” into Google and clicking the first result. The name arrives first — from a venue coordinator, a decorator, a cousin’s reel — and then it gets checked. A grid of thirty frames from six different shoots proves you can shoot. It does not say whether you are free on 14 February, what the package covers, or how long the album takes. That is what the website is for.
Portals will sit above you on the broad searches. WedMeGood, ShaadiSaga and the big venue directories have review volume and ad budgets a single studio will not out-spend, and they charge for the lead once it lands. Accepting that is cheaper than fighting it. Your own site earns its keep somewhere else: on people searching your studio name, on the shortlist visit after Instagram, and on every enquiry that comes direct instead of through a listing fee.
Two things lose those visits. The first is weight — a home page that ships fifteen megabytes of Lightroom exports will not paint on 4G near a venue, and the visitor is back on Instagram before your hero image finishes. The second is a pricing page that says “packages on request”. Three studios are being compared in one sitting. The one that shows a starting figure, states plainly what is not included, and asks for the date is the one that gets the WhatsApp message.
The build sheet: categories, package tables and private galleries
A photography site is really two products stitched together: a public portfolio that has to load in under two seconds, and a private delivery system your clients log into for months afterwards. Both are built on the same web development service, and the sheet usually reads like this.
- Separate category galleries for wedding, pre-wedding, maternity, newborn, product, corporate and event work, each on its own URL with its own cover frame and its own enquiry form.
- Full shoot stories instead of a mixed grid — one couple, thirty to forty frames in shoot order, so a visitor sees a whole day rather than your six best pictures.
- An image pipeline that converts every upload to WebP with an AVIF variant at three widths, writes width and height into the markup so nothing jumps during load, and lazy-loads everything below the fold.
- Paginated galleries at around twenty-four frames a page, with the next page prefetched, so a four-hundred-frame set never arrives in a single request.
- Package tables stating hours of coverage, second shooter, album pages and paper, drone, travel and outstation stay — the “not included” column does more work than the price.
- A date-availability enquiry that asks for the event date first, then venue city and category, and lands in WhatsApp as one formatted message you can answer from the shoot.
- Password-protected client galleries with a per-event link, an expiry date, a downloads on or off switch, and favouriting so the couple can mark album selections.
- A delivery timeline block — sneak peek, full edited set, album after approval — written in days and weeks, which quietly ends most of the “when are the photos coming” calls.
- A copyright and usage page covering printing rights, social posting, watermark policy, RAW files and how long you archive an event.
- Instagram pulled in as cached thumbnails served from your own hosting rather than the official embed, which costs close to a second of load time.
- A film and reel section with a poster frame and click-to-play, so no video byte downloads until somebody asks for it.
- Venue and category landing pages for the long tail, plus Google Business Profile, review schema and click-to-call for the enquiries that still come by phone.
After launch, somebody has to upload the next wedding
Season decides the calendar. Enquiries for the November–February run start building from August, which means the site has to be finished, indexed and tested before the enquiries arrive rather than during them. A build started in October is a build that misses its own season.
After launch the work is uploads. A studio shooting thirty events a year cannot wait for a developer every time a set is ready, so we hand over a gallery uploader with one rule attached: export at two thousand pixels on the longest edge and let the site handle the rest. Skip that rule and somebody drops nine-megabyte files into a gallery six months later, and the page that loaded in 1.4 seconds at launch is back to four. That single habit is the difference between a site that stays fast and a site that has to be rebuilt in a year.
There is also a case for not spending much. If you shoot fewer than ten events a year and all of them come by referral, one page with your forty best frames, a starting rate and a WhatsApp button is enough — take the ₹24,999 plan and put the rest into glass. The larger tier and ongoing SEO earn their money when you are chasing bookings outside your referral circle, running paid traffic that needs somewhere to land, or building venue and category pages meant to bring in search traffic over a year.

Fixed scope, fixed price, fixed date. Written into the proposal before you pay anything.
| Package | What is included | Price | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Website | Up to 7 pages · mobile-first custom design · WhatsApp + click-to-call buttons · contact form · on-page SEO basics (titles, meta, schema) · Google Business Profile link · SSL, speed and security setup · 2 revision rounds · 30 days post-launch support | ₹24,999 | 7–10 working days |
| Business Pro + SEO | Up to 15 pages + blog · custom design system · on-page SEO for 10 keywords · Google Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile setup · Core Web Vitals optimisation · lead forms into WhatsApp (ZupiChat inbox, first month free) · 3 revision rounds · 60 days support | ₹49,999 | 2–3 weeks |
| E-commerce Store | WooCommerce, Shopify or custom · up to 100 products uploaded · Razorpay / PhonePe / UPI · Shiprocket or Delhivery shipping · GST-compliant invoices · coupons and offers · abandoned-cart WhatsApp recovery · 90 days support | ₹99,999 | 3–4 weeks |
| Password-protected client delivery galleries | Optional add-on for this industry, quoted on the same invoice | ₹9,999 | with the site |
Prices exclude 18% GST. Most working studios take Business Pro + SEO at ₹49,999, because seven category galleries, venue pages and a shoot blog run past the seven-page limit of the ₹24,999 plan and because image-heavy pages need the Core Web Vitals work that tier includes.
