Fashion Boutique Website Design
Lookbook, drop pages, Indian size charts, made-to-measure enquiry forms and appointment booking, built mobile-first from ₹24,999 and live in 7–10 working days. Domain, hosting and analytics stay in your own name, with a GST invoice at each milestone.
Most boutique owners already have the hard part — the pieces, the karigars, a following that comments on every post. What they do not have is a page that answers the three questions a buyer asks before paying: will it fit me, how long will it take, and what happens if the fit is wrong. Those answers live in DMs, retyped forty times a week, and half the enquiries go cold waiting.
We build the boutique site around that flow rather than around a catalogue grid. Collection pages that hold a drop instead of being overwritten by the next one, a size chart in inches, a measurement form that lands in WhatsApp with the piece reference attached, stated lead times, and an appointment slot for bridal and occasion fittings. The three demos below are live sites you can open on your phone right now — Atelier Noire, Marlowe and Kessler & Row — each built for a different kind of label.
Where the money leaks between a saved post and a paid order
A boutique’s first contact is almost never the website. It is a Reel, a tagged photo from a wedding, or a friend sending a screenshot on WhatsApp. The saved post sits there for a week. Then the buyer types the label name into Google, or something far more specific — a fabric, a neckline, a made-to-measure query — and that is the moment the site either answers or loses her.
Generic category searches are not winnable. Myntra, Ajio, Nykaa Fashion and Tata CLiQ own terms like party wear gown or cotton kurta set, and no independent label is going to displace them. What a boutique can own is its own name, its craft vocabulary, and long-tail intent: custom stitching lead times, measurement help, bridal trial appointments, sizing built for Indian body measurements.
Boutique sites that lose money share the same faults. A theme built for T-shirts, with S/M/L sizing and no bust, waist and hip in inches. An Add to cart button on a piece that is actually stitched to order, with no lead time anywhere, so a bride assumes three-day delivery. Photographs compressed until the zari and thread work turn to mush. A refund policy pasted from a template when the studio, in practice, only exchanges. And nowhere to book a trial.
Season matters more here than in most trades. Enquiries climb from late August through the festive weeks and again from January into the wedding months. A site that has not published cut-off dates for custom orders turns that peak into WhatsApp chaos and cancelled orders.
Made to order changes what the page has to say
Two things separate a boutique build from an ordinary store build: pieces that are made after the order, and buyers who need convincing on fit before they will part with money. Both change what goes on the page.
- Collection and drop pages that keep their own URL, so last season stays online as a lookbook instead of being wiped by the new arrivals
- A size chart in inches with Indian body measurements — bust, waist, hip, shoulder and length — and a plain note on where standard fit ends and custom stitching begins
- A made-to-measure enquiry form: eight to eleven measurements, occasion date, fabric preference, all arriving on WhatsApp with the piece reference already attached
- Lead-time text on every made-to-order piece, plus a festive cut-off banner you switch on before Navratri and the wedding weeks
- Fabric and craft photography handled properly — large zoom crops of embroidery, weave, lining and finish, served as WebP so they still open on a patchy mobile connection
- Bridal and occasion appointment booking with slots, an optional advance, and the enquiry landing in the studio calendar
- Alteration and exchange policy as its own page, linked from every product, written to match what you actually do rather than a downloaded template
- Razorpay, PhonePe or UPI with a part-payment option for custom orders — advance now, balance before dispatch
- Shiprocket or Delhivery for ready-to-wear, and a separate path for stitched pieces that ship only after a fitting
- Instagram shopping feed and a product catalogue exported for the WhatsApp Business catalogue your repeat clients already browse
- Limited-piece messaging done without a stock counter, so exclusivity reads as exclusivity and not as leftover inventory
- Abandoned-cart WhatsApp recovery on the ready-to-wear side, where a nudge is welcome rather than intrusive
When a store is the wrong spend, and who uploads the next drop
The honest version first. A label that produces fifteen to twenty pieces a month, all stitched to order, does not need a hundred-product store. That budget is better spent on a seven-page small business website with a proper lookbook, size guide, measurement form and appointment booking. The store tier earns its keep when ready-to-wear stock repeats, when the same sizes sell again, and when order messages are eating a working day every week.
Owners also underestimate who keeps the site alive. Code is not the bottleneck; photographs are. A shoot produces the images on a Sunday and someone has to crop, name and upload them within two days or the drop is stale before it launches. So the admin is built for a four-minute upload, and the handover is a short screen recording rather than a manual nobody opens.
On search, expect to win your own name and the specific queries around it: measurement help, stitching lead times, blouse and fall fittings, fabric care after a wedding. Two or three pieces of writing a season, aimed at those questions, pull steady traffic the large portals cannot be bothered to serve, and that work sits with SEO rather than with design. Add a Google Business Profile if you take appointments at a studio. Do not chase broad category terms; the marketplaces have them, and pretending otherwise wastes a year.
