Website Development for Dentists and Clinics in Pune: What Actually Works

September 3, 2026 Uncategorized

The problem with most clinic websites in Pune

Walk through the websites of twenty dental clinics in Pune and you will see the same site twenty times: a stock photo of a smiling model, a paragraph about commitment to excellence, a list of services with one line each, and a contact form nobody checks. It cost Rs. 20,000, it has never brought an appointment, and the doctor has concluded that websites do not work for clinics.

The websites that do work look different in specific, boring ways. This article covers what those are, what it costs, and what to avoid.

How patients actually find a clinic

The path is nearly always the same, and understanding it changes what you should build.

  1. The patient searches something like dentist near me, root canal in Kothrud or orthodontist Baner, usually on a phone.
  2. They see the Google map pack: three clinics with ratings, distance and timings.
  3. They open two or three websites to judge whether the clinic looks real and competent.
  4. They call or send a WhatsApp message. Very few fill in a form.

Two things follow from this. First, your Google Business Profile does the finding and your website does the convincing – a website without profile work is a shop with no signboard. Second, the website is judged in about eight seconds on a phone, so speed and clarity beat cleverness.

The structure that works

Page Why it exists What most clinics get wrong
One page per treatment People search for treatments, not clinics. Root canal, implants, braces, teeth whitening each need their own page. Listing all treatments on one page with a line each, so none of them can rank.
Doctor profile Patients are choosing a person, not a building. Real qualifications, registration number, years of experience, a genuine photograph. A stock photo and the phrase highly experienced.
Location page Map, landmark, parking, timings, which floor. Removes friction for a first visit. Address in the footer only, no map, no landmark.
Fee guidance Cost is the top unspoken question. A range with an explanation builds trust. Hiding it entirely, which sends patients to a competitor who answered.
Appointment path A visible phone number and WhatsApp button on every screen. A contact form as the only option, checked once a week.

The treatment pages are the part that generates traffic. A clinic with eight properly written treatment pages will out-perform one with a beautiful homepage and nothing behind it, every time.

Local SEO is the actual work

For a clinic, the website is roughly a third of the job. The rest is local visibility, and it is where most clinics under-invest.

Google Business Profile, kept alive. Complete categories, correct timings including holidays, real photographs of the actual clinic, and posts that are not abandoned after month one. This is what puts you in the map pack.

Reviews, steadily. A clinic with 40 reviews at 4.7 beats one with 6 reviews at 5.0. Ask every satisfied patient, and ask consistently rather than in bursts – a sudden spike of reviews looks artificial and gets filtered.

Location-specific content. If you serve Baner, Kothrud and Wakad, the site should say so in a way that is genuinely useful rather than the same page with the area name swapped. Thin location clones are actively harmful; we have seen sites lose large numbers of indexed pages that way.

Consistent details everywhere. Name, address and phone identical across your site, your profile and every directory. Inconsistency quietly suppresses local rankings.

Our guide to SEO cost in Pune covers what local SEO should cost and what a real monthly scope contains.

What it costs

Scope Cost (excl. GST) Includes
Single clinic Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 85,000 6 to 10 treatment pages, doctor profile, location page, WhatsApp and call integration, local schema, mobile performance work
Multi-speciality Rs. 90,000 – Rs. 1,80,000 Department structure, multiple doctor profiles, larger treatment library, appointment request handling
Multi-branch Rs. 1,50,000 – Rs. 2,50,000 Separate location pages built properly, per-branch profiles and timings, branch-aware enquiry routing
Local SEO retainer Rs. 8,000 – Rs. 20,000 / month Profile management, reviews, citations, ongoing content

A clinic that spends Rs. 60,000 on the site and nothing monthly will usually do worse than one that spends Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 10,000 a month. The site is the asset; the retainer is what makes it visible.

Compliance: what you cannot say

Healthcare advertising in India is more restricted than most agencies realise, and a clinic carries the consequence, not the agency.

  • No guaranteed outcomes. Painless, permanent, guaranteed results and similar claims are a problem.
  • No comparative superiority over named or implied competitors.
  • Before and after images need written patient consent, and should not imply typical results.
  • Display real registration details for doctors. It builds trust and is expected.
  • Be careful with testimonials. Genuine Google reviews embedded on the site are safer and more credible than curated quotes.

A good agency will push back on copy that crosses these lines. If yours does not, that is your risk, not theirs.

The follow-up nobody builds

Here is where most clinics leave money on the table. A patient enquires, the front desk replies once, and nothing happens after that. No reminder before the appointment, no follow-up after treatment, no recall six months later.

Appointment reminders alone reduce no-shows noticeably, and a recall message brings back patients who simply forgot. We build this on WhatsApp using ZupiChat, so reminders, report delivery and recalls run automatically from the same system that handles enquiries. For most clinics this returns more than any design change.

What we would do first

If you are starting from a weak site and a limited budget, the order that produces results fastest is:

  1. Fix the Google Business Profile completely, including photos and timings.
  2. Build six to eight real treatment pages, written properly, fast on mobile.
  3. Put a WhatsApp button on every page and actually answer it.
  4. Start asking every happy patient for a review, every week.
  5. Add appointment reminders once enquiries are flowing.

None of that is glamorous, and all of it works. If you would like us to look at your current site and profile and tell you honestly which of these five is your bottleneck, send us the link.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a clinic website cost in Pune?

A well-built single-clinic website with treatment pages, doctor profiles and appointment booking costs Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 85,000. Multi-speciality or multi-branch clinics with separate location pages and department structure run Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 2,50,000. Add 18% GST. The figure that matters more is the monthly local SEO spend afterwards, because a clinic website with no local visibility brings almost nothing.

Do clinic websites actually bring patients?

They bring patients when they are built for local search and paired with an active Google Business Profile. Most patients find a clinic through a maps search, check the website to judge credibility, and then call or message. The website rarely creates the demand by itself; it converts the demand your profile and reputation generate.

What pages does a dental clinic website need?

A separate page for each significant treatment, a doctor profile page with real qualifications, a location page with map, parking and timings, genuine patient story content where regulations permit, transparent fee guidance, and a simple appointment path. Treatment pages matter most, because that is what people actually search for.

Can we show patient photos and reviews?

Only with written consent, and with care. Indian medical advertising norms restrict claims of guaranteed outcomes and comparative superiority. Before and after images need explicit patient permission and should not imply results everyone will get. Genuine Google reviews displayed on the site are safer and more persuasive than curated testimonials nobody can verify.

Should the site have online appointment booking?

A simple request-an-appointment form or WhatsApp button works better than a full booking system for most single clinics, because patients want confirmation from a human and clinics rarely keep a live calendar accurate. Larger multi-doctor setups benefit from real booking. The wrong choice is a booking widget nobody at the clinic monitors.
